Introduction

These Company Values ("Values") represent the core principles and commitments that guide Orbit Transactions LLC ("Orbit", "we", "us", or "our") in all aspects of our business, including product development, community management, hiring, partnerships, and long-term strategy.

These Values are not marketing statements. They are binding commitments that inform how we operate, make decisions, and interact with our community. They are grounded in our Mission Statement and reflected in our Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.

These Values are public commitments. We publish them to hold ourselves accountable and to help users, hosts, partners, and stakeholders understand what Orbit stands for and how we operate.

Our Mission

Orbit exists to help solve the global loneliness epidemic by making safe, intentional, platonic human connection accessible to everyone.

Loneliness affects people of every age, background, and circumstance. It is not a personal failure but a systemic problem created by modern life, digital isolation, and the loss of easy, low-pressure ways to connect in the real world.

Orbit is built to help people feel seen, valued, and connected through trusted, verified, platonic activities that prioritize safety, wellness, and real human presence. By removing dating pressure, exploitation, and addictive social mechanics, Orbit creates space for genuine connection that supports emotional well-being and helps people flourish.

Our mission is not to replace relationships or fix people, but to make meaningful connection easier, safer, and more human, so no one has to face loneliness alone.

For more details, see our Mission Statement.

Our Core Values

These five values guide every decision we make at Orbit. They are enduring, actionable, and non-negotiable.

1. Safety Is Sacred

Community safety is our highest obligation.

Orbit exists only if people feel safe, protected, and respected. Any decision that introduces ambiguity, risk, or harm is vetoed, regardless of growth, revenue, or convenience.

What this means:

  • We enforce strict platonic boundaries without exception

  • We invest in verification, moderation, and trust systems early and continuously

  • We say no to features or shortcuts that compromise user safety

  • We accept slower growth to preserve trust

  • We maintain zero tolerance for bad actors

We never: trade safety for scale.

Trust is not a feature. It's the foundation.

2. Platonic Clarity Builds Trust

Connection without pressure is the product.

Orbit is intentionally platonic. We believe meaningful human connection does not require romantic or sexual intent, and clarity is essential to trust.

What this means:

  • We design experiences around activities, not attraction

  • We eliminate ambiguity that could confuse intent

  • We communicate expectations clearly to all participants

  • We reject "flexible intent" or dating-adjacent drift

  • We maintain clear boundaries in all platform features and communications

We never: blur the line to boost engagement.

We don't blur the line, because that line is the point.

3. Human Flourishing Over Metrics

We design for well-being, not addiction.

Orbit measures success by how people feel after they log off, not how long they stay online. Growth, engagement, and revenue matter only if they serve human flourishing.

What this means:

  • We avoid addictive mechanics, dark patterns, and dependency loops

  • We favor intentional use over endless scrolling

  • We ship features that encourage real-world joy, not digital exhaustion

  • We accept fewer users if it means deeper impact

  • We prioritize long-term well-being over short-term metrics

We never: optimize for attention at the expense of wellness.

Connection should leave you fuller, not drained.

4. Dignity Over Extraction

People are not units of revenue.

Hosts and guests are human beings, not commodities. Orbit rejects exploitative gig economics and monetization models that profit from desperation or vulnerability.

What this means:

  • We treat hosts as partners, not disposable labor

  • We set fair, transparent fees

  • We avoid invasive advertising or data resale

  • We protect privacy as a core trust commitment

  • We reject business models that exploit loneliness

We never: monetize loneliness.

We don't monetize loneliness. We work to reduce it.

5. Integrity Is the Long Game

We choose who we are over how fast we grow.

Orbit's mission and ethical compass come before revenue, hype, or investor pressure. If success requires becoming something we're not, we choose not to succeed that way.

What this means:

  • We decline funding or partnerships that push us off-mission

  • We build sustainably, even if it takes longer

  • We make decisions we'll still stand behind years from now

  • We hold ourselves accountable when it's inconvenient

  • We stay mission-driven even under pressure

We never: trade our values for momentum.

Our values are not negotiable, even when it costs us.

How We Apply These Values

These Values are not just statements. They are decision filters that guide how we operate.

Decision-Making Framework

When debating a feature, partnership, or policy, we ask:

  1. Does this preserve safety? (Safety Is Sacred)

  2. Does this maintain platonic clarity? (Platonic Clarity Builds Trust)

  3. Does this improve real human flourishing? (Human Flourishing Over Metrics)

  4. Does this respect dignity? (Dignity Over Extraction)

  5. Will we still be proud of this choice in five years? (Integrity Is the Long Game)

If the answer is no to any of these questions, we don't ship it.

Application Areas

These Values guide:

  • Product decisions - Feature design, user experience, platform mechanics

  • Policy & moderation - Community guidelines, enforcement, safety measures

  • Hiring - Cultural fit, alignment with mission, long-term commitment

  • Monetization - Revenue models, pricing, partnerships

  • Crisis moments - How we respond under pressure, public communication

  • Investor conversations - What we're willing to accept or decline

  • Partnerships - Who we work with and how we work together

Our Commitments

These Values translate into specific commitments we make to our community.

What We Commit To

  1. Safety First

    • We will always prioritize community safety over growth, revenue, or convenience, with no exceptions

    • We will maintain strong verification and moderation systems

  2. Platonic Clarity

    • We will maintain clear platonic boundaries in all platform features and communications

    • We will not blur the line between platonic and romantic connections

    • We will communicate expectations clearly to all participants

    • We will reject any drift toward dating or romantic services

  3. Human Flourishing

    • We will design for real-world well-being, not addictive scrolling or attention extraction

    • We will avoid addictive mechanics or dark patterns

    • We will measure success by how people feel after they log off

    • We will accept fewer users if it means a healthier experience

  4. Dignity and Respect

    • We will treat hosts as partners, not disposable labor

    • We will set fair, transparent fees

    • We will protect privacy as a core trust commitment

    • We will not sell user data or attention

  5. Integrity and Accountability

    • We will choose long-term trust over short-term hype

    • We will make decisions we'll still stand behind years from now

    • We will hold ourselves accountable when it's inconvenient

    • We will decline opportunities that don't align with our Values

What We Will Never Do

  1. We will never prioritize romantic or intimate matching, even if it could boost user numbers

  2. We will never allow exploitation of hosts or users for short-term gains

  3. We will never sacrifice safety for scale, like skimping on verification or moderation

  4. We will never optimize for addictive scrolling or growth at all costs

  5. We will never become a data-harvesting machine, selling user insights for ads or third-party profits

These boundaries are non-negotiable and define who we are as a company.

Accountability

Our Accountability Hierarchy

When priorities collide, our Values determine who we protect. Orbit chooses in this order:

  1. Community Safety - Absolute veto power. If something risks harm, ambiguity, or bad actors, it does not ship.

  2. Guests / Users - Orbit exists to serve people seeking connection. Their trust and well-being outweigh convenience or upside elsewhere.

  3. Ethical Compass / Mission - Long-term human flourishing beats short-term metrics, always.

  4. Hosts - Supported, empowered, and treated fairly, but never at the expense of safety or user trust.

  5. Revenue / Growth - Important, but earned, not extracted.

  6. Regulators / Platforms - Fully compliant, creatively navigated, never used as a moral shield.

Holding Ourselves Accountable

We publish these Values publicly to:

  • Hold ourselves accountable - Public commitments create accountability

  • Enable transparency - Users, hosts, and partners can see what we stand for

  • Guide decision-making - These Values inform all company decisions

  • Build trust - Clear values help build trust with our community
